I have spent all my riding miles on the east coast and have been lucky enough to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway many times. I cant wait until time permits a cross country trip. On the top of my list is Monument Valley- (see attached). For those who have traveled this road is it as incredible as the picture portrays, or more so?
Feel free to share pictures of roads on your bucket list, I would love to see them.
I've ridden Monument Valley too many times to count, yet it never gets old. Take time and ride back to the Valley of the Gods. The sugar sand can sometimes be a handful but it's worth it.
I wouldn't recommend staying in Tuba City or Kayenta in the Navaho Nation. One thing the pictures of Monument Valley never show is all the broken glass on the side of the road.
Further north, of Moab is a road called 128. It runs along the Colorado, you should see that as well. As I remember it terminates in a little place called Cisco, UT.
...back in the summer of '90 I did the Dempster Highway all the way to Inuvik. Love to go back and do it again on a bike. Definitely not a Harley thing - more a GS type ride. This and I'd like to retrace the old route 66...as much of it as I can.

I bet it never does get old. Thanks for the great information. Can't wait.
No picture, just a memory, In my early 20's I was between bikes while living in Las Vegas. So many beautiful places but your picture makes me think of the ride from town to Mt. Charleston. I sure do miss a lot about the wondrous things God did out west. Awesome picture!!!
