First, I am not advertising with the following question. But I am have my 2016 low rider for sale with 3700 miles in perfect flawless shape AND has a great 120R motor on it and NO issues. Never raced it or pushed it but I know I have all the power I need. I love it when I am on road and bikes merge behind me and go around me cocky Ha Ha ! Well they ain't so cocky when I open it up and they are 1/2 mile behind me. Just a little humor !!
But I have quite a bit invested and asking price is fair!... I am 70 and get too exhausted when I ride so I am giving it up. But I thought low riders especially a great hot motor and a very fair price yet no interest! Are my expectations too high? Dealer did a nice sell job on me and assured me with " oh you won't have any problems selling this bike and getting your money out of it". Yeah right! I know Harleys sell high new and seller takes a big hit, but no interest at all! Just wondering and I am sure I will get a few lectures of how a dumb a** I am! Ok guys? Mods this isn't a sell job. just detailing info! quite a bit invested accessories.... hoping for mid 15's...just for reference !
Mods are for you, not the next owner. Investing in mods is not an investment in motorcycle equity.
Sorry but the 120 engine does not add value to the bike, maybe a 10 cents on the dollar return at most.
Many buyers are skeptical of race mods anyway, racing, abuse and engine longevity are some of the concerns, justified or not.
1. You're waiting on a unique buyer that specifically wants a LR with the 120R and has priced out a new one. Plan on a long wait, and advertise nationally.
2. In another month your bike will be 2 yrs old, and the buying public is all a twitter with what HD will be rolling out for the 2018 model year.
3. Although in the Harley realm, the 120r puts out lots of power, in the overall motorcycling world, it is no big deal. At $15K +, there are lots of bikes that could be had that would deliver 150+++hp at similar money as yours.
Just traded in my 2014 Low Rider......4800 miles, SE Heavy Breather, D&D FatCat exhaust, forward controls, and a bunch of other goodies. Tried to sell it myself for over 3 months. Not even one call. Dealer gave me $8500 trade-in. Around here, if it's not a bagger, you're not getting much for it.
