I think so, the road isn't as cambered ( I think is the term) plus the switchbacks going counter clockwise are 1st gear ones that take you by surprise...
I'm not a fan of The Dragon. Too many idiots hangout there. I watched someone get life flighted off the mountain in front of me the last time I rode it. That tends to damper your impression of it.

I started this thread mainly to say I found it funny that having lived in this area all my life I had never made the ride.
I gotta say that I am very happy with the way the thread evolved. I now know a lot more rides and I will do as many of them as I can. I have been really looking more at maps too. I don't have to go across country to get in some great rides before my time runs out.
Coming west out of Franklin on RT 64 look for Patton road. Wayah is off Patton.
Going east on Rt 74 from US 129 about 5 or so miles 74 splits into 4 lanes Wayah Rd is on the right.
Another way to find it on the map is look for Nantahala lake. It runs along side the lake and river for a good piece.
