At 20k that would take a long time to make back the investment on a part time basis.
I am surprised more Indy's don't have a dyno. It would seem full time they could make this back and then some.
The best indy around my area gets $35.00 for a Dyno run and $60.00/hr. to Dyno Tune. At even $10,000.00, that is a lot of work. There is another shop that has a dyno in a trailer, about the same cost, but of course, he is mobile.

Not really. If every customer could yield 200 dollars in revenue from the dyno then it would only take 50 customers to be the break even point. That doesn't sound like too much to me...especially for an INDY with a steady following of customers.
ill be your first customer. the guy I bought my bike from said it was bored and stroked, I wanna know with out taking the heads off. some of the guys in the sportster section were saying thier bikes lug at 55 and 60 mph in 5th gear . Mine dont lug at 40. I found the dealer where the bike was bought and I know what upgrades THEY did,and they didnt bore it or put a cam in it.
Just been wondering for a while.
Local HD shop dont have a dyno? Ijust figured they did...

Talking the whole dyno...not a tune.
I am frustrated by the lack of dynos in the area I live and am thinking out loud about this being a possible opportunity.
