Help

have a 06 ultra classic my chain case is leaking. I changed the gasket with oem Harley went for a ride on Sat came home and have a puddle under it again. I heard that they make a gasket with a bead on it that seals better anyone heard of this? Or know why a new gasket would be leaking? Thanks for any help!

Are you sure the leak is from the primary? One common source of leaks is the shift shaft seal BEHIND the primary.

yes i looked at the seal for the shaft when i had it apart the first time. I thought it was a bad i even bought one but the allen head just needed a tightening. i also can see it leaking from there when i wipe it off i see it seeping there. the dealer said it was a warped cover but i dont see it just all the sudden warping.

It's a Harley, it is supposed to leak.

I'm calling BS on the "warped" cover.

Get a little Black High temp RTV and lightly coat both sides of the gasket before assembly, if you still have a leak after that, look elsewhere.

Thank you guys for the info my new parts just came today going to do a thin coat of RTV and see what happens. Have to do breaks too. thanks again for the help guys, everyone be safe.

I had an evo that the primary cover was warped. I never had a problem with it until the first time I took it off. When I put it back on I couldn't get it to seal. I couldn't see the warp until I put a straight edge on the seal edge of the cover and I could see the gap. Hopefully the new gasket works for you.
