Original Gunk works great for me. NEVER use s pressure washer on your bike! Otherwise you'll be joining many others on this forum crying about the crappy wheel bearings Harley puts on their products!
In this case you would use a pressure washer because you are hitting the engine. Wheel bearings go bad if you literally spray on the wheel area. I pressure wash my bike. But Im not stupid about it.
I use Meguiar products. Motorcycle Cleaner, Tire Cleaner, Ultimate Detailer. Rinse dirt off with garden hose. Spray on cleaners and let set for minute. Hose off. Blow dry using air compressor. Take a ride. Then Ultimate Detailer.
I've tried most everything over the last forty years and Bike Brite is my choice
with S100 a close second. As others have said, stay far away from pressure
washers and high pressure hose nozzles.
ON MY 08 ultra , I mix 1 part dawn dish detergent, 5 parts water then spray bottle on a warm not hot engine let it sit 5-10 minutes and hose off . once a year i spray engine brighter on it

Dish soap and a soft pointy brush to get into the tight spots. An easy rinse with a garden hose will do no harm. I just would stay away from the electrics.

By all means, be my guest! If it works for ya, who am I to naysay!
I spray a cold engine with STP tire foam. Been doing it for many years to many Hogs. It dries to a semi-gloss on all the black parts, cases, trans, jugs etc. You will be surprised, my buddies wanted to know why my engine always looked new.
