Modify your auto primary chain adjuster from "auto" to "manual".

For about $1.00 I converted my '09 96ci. Twin cam auto aduster to manual. Can't believe the difference in the noise reduction and smoother percormance. The auto adjuster was causing my primary chain to tighten like a piano string. My bike hasn't felt this good when riding, for years.
I included a few pictures, and described what I did. I saved myself the cost of a new manual adjuster.

Many '07-'11 96 twin cam owners are having much trouble with our primary drives, from factory "weak" compensators, to clutch hub broken splines, to overtight primary chain caused by the auto tensioner. I believe the tensioner is the main culprit. After replacing the compensator with the Harley recommended S.E. upgrade, and new clutch hub, the auto tensioner was still keeping the primary chain as tight as a piano string.
I was "shopping" for a aftermarket manual tensioner, and decided I could modify the factory auto tensioner to work. So, I did just that.

Remove your primary inspection cover. Use a long screw driver to see if you have adequate deflection of the chain. If you do forget about any mod. If it's fairly tight the mod is worth doing. Easy check.
