I recently bought my harley and I noticed that the battery died quickly. When I would try to turn it on, it would sound like it was turning on for a few seconds then it would start clicking (like if the battery was dead) . I didn’t know much about the bike so I just went out and bought a new battery 3 days ago. These past 3 days it would turn on good but I also felt like the battery was slowly loosing power each time I would turn it on. Today is the forth day since I replaced the battery and I tried to turn it on in the morning and once again, I sounded like it wanted to turn on but it started clicking again. I always keep it in the garage over night. I’m going to charge it tonight and see how it starts tomorrow morning. Can anyone help me solve this problem?! Is it the starter that may be using up to much power to start the bike? Or the alternator that is not charging the battery? Any tips will help!
Charge the battery completely. Make sure the cables are tight and clean, especially the ground. If it still doesn't spin over the motor get the battery load tested.

Also check your switch and make sure that it is cutting off completely. There's something running when you shut down the bike?
Good luck.. And postapic
Since you replaced the battery and the bike started I'd suggest that you have the stator and voltage regulator tested before spending money and time on a "witch hunt".
If your battery cables (at the battery) are clean and tight, also check the ground cable that mounts to your frame under your seat.
This bike uses a smaller battery and I will quickly discharge when riding if it isn't receiving current from the charging system.
Your ignition system requires a minimum amount of voltage to fire the engine and you may have enough to "crank" the engine over but that may not be enough.
Good luck and don't forget to plug in your "battery tender" nightly.
I think it is your charging system, after all if you put a brand new battery on your car and the battery went down what would you figger that to be. Same thing with your Harley.
