What do you think. I think it would be a great merger. Don't know if it will happen or not, but by the looks of the article they have been talking for a while.
what the hell did Davidson do to get dumped? next thing you know, we'd have a merger with Davidson and Kawasaki, and then we'd all be riding Davisakis/

Actually a merger with Ducati would be pretty sweet (as long as they kept them separate!) Two classic motorcycle companies with plenty of soul in their bikes, probably one of the best combinations you can have! Ducati fans aren't much different than Harley fans when you get down to it; they both love their bikes and will keep them forever, and could care less what people think of them!
Granted in real life it might not work out that great, and could possibly kill two great things. But it'd be interesting to see....
The best of the scenarios from the article would be the BMW/Husqvarna merger, because then I could throw around that I owned a beamer (Husqvarna chainsaw). "Yep, going to take the beamer out," I could say proudly before fillingit up with gas and chain oil. Imagine the snooty party conversation to be had. "Just slammed the beamer into a tree today. Big, solid oak, knocked the tree down, big crash. Beamer still runs too. In fact, it did so good on the trunk of the tree, I backed it out so I could run it through all of the limbs, cutting them up into little chunks. Have to watch that kickback though. Sometimes the beamer hits a piece of wood funny and it jolts right back at you."
And truth be told, I've always like the sound of Husqvarna chain saws better than the BMW motorcycles, so the Huskys would improve the brand too. Maybe BMW could borrow the sound tech from Husqvarna and make their bikes sound alive.
