To me its a sign of getting weak in the market and lowering cost to compete by removing what has made them popular will only cause their downfall.. They have taken a step close to when AMF bought the Harley Davidson line and it went to hell. But now it seems since the AMF ownership Harley is headed down the same path. Even the baggers at 24K to 26K the way they are decked out doesn't justify the prices ! I think Harley prices their bikes because they say "Harley" and lessening their design and originality doesn't justify the prices! Especially if you compare previous year bikes from 2016 and older you can see details diminishing each year there after. IMHO. I may be delusional because I am so disappointed without the dyna wide glide and dyna series and even tho the dyna low rider is now the softail frames but it isn't the same. Sad IMHO! So I exercise my right to no longer buy a new Harley. I will just keep my dyna 2016 low rider because NOTHING in 2018 compares!!! Sad thing is , the way its going Harley soon will be 100% Japanese...
sorry, I like the toned-down look. don't know why everyone insists on having their bike drenched in chrome.

then again, I also hate cars from the 1950s because their styling is offensively tacky.

Uh! That is unless Harley wants to get back to the TRADITIONAL HISTORY that made them great!!! Maybe I am too closed minded !!But I looked at the 2018 line up and ??????
OH look, another old guy who thinks the way things were when he was 16 should be frozen in time and never change ever.

I do hear alot of good things about the new 2018 soft-tail line so I may just have to do that.

But, like i said in the previous post. I just about fell in love when i saw the 2017/2018 Road King. That is a thing of beauty.

Personally for me I'm glad so many people hate the new bikes and I hope they keep on hating them for a few more years. Don't send me angry messages yet ...ive got a plan. If enough people keep hating the new bikes the resale market will be very soft so I should be able to score a great deal on a used one in a few years...so keep up the hate...especially those awful road kings, yuk.

Sorry, but you've missed the cut off for the 2018 line up complaint band wagon. This will now be filed in the "it's too late, get over it" section.

no, you won't. after a year on a 84 month loan, that person is going to be so upside down, that it'll be cheaper to buy a new one.

the poll is not very scientific. just because it's 60-30 does not mean that 60% hate the new bike. it just means that that person is not going to rush out and buy one. hell, I have nothing against the new ones, but i'm in that 60% that said i'm not going to buy one. the reason? because my bike is 3 payments short of being paid for and I don't want to start over with a payment.

On 9-30 I test rode a 18 Lowrider and a 17 Lowrider. The 18 was smoother over bumps and what not. The power of the 18 was better. They only had the black one in stock. The gloss black tank with the red and blue stripes reminded me of AMF. I would of had to repainted the tank. The 17 was silver and black much better looking bike. I had a 09 Lowrider and loved that bike. I traded it for a 2014 Honda CB1100 because of my commute to work. Now I ride all hwy to work. So I traded in my Honda for the 17. I got a much better deal on the 17, lower interest rate. They gave me $6000 for my Honda. The 17 reminds me of my 09 with improvements. The 103 motor is more than enough for a 660 pound bike. They did have a couple of the 17 Lowrider S. I didn't test ride one because I probably would own one. Here's a picture of my Honda I was the first one to put a windjammer on a new CB1100.

There keeping up with the times it 2017 these models aren’t selling to the younger generation plus the Dyna wasn’t selling either that’s way they stop production. Harley Davidson need to keep up with the rest of the manufactures i thing the newer models will grow on me in time.

Carguy, that's probably my favorite Honda..
You have to love what you ride so it'll take some time for old-schoolers to warm up to the new bikes. I wasn't an old-school guy so I loved it right away. When they re-make the sportster line up I think that's where they'll get the younger crowd interested in the MoCo. Yes, it will stray from what it is now but if done correctly (in my opinion like the Softails) and they keep the price DOWN, they'll become the new best seller.
