Has anybody sucessfully installed the Harley P&A Headset in the FXRG Modular helmet? Not even sure how to start.
Im not familiar with the FXRG so I will be no real help. I can tell you that the Harley headset that came with my RGU would not mount to my Nolan Modular helmet. The clamp on the P&A headset was not compatible with the design of the bottom of my helmet. I ended up going with the Nolan head set that was designed for my helmet and it works great, plus there is nothing showing on the outside of the helmet
Basically the P&A headset that has a clamp that mounts to the bottom of the helmet between the liner and the shell. If you don't have the install instructions for the headset they are at this link https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....3?locale=en_US
I don't have the FXRG helmet, but I do have a Harley modular and the headset installed very easily. Took the parts guy about 15 minutes to put it in/on. I'm sure the fitment is the same even though I have the el cheapo lid.
Similar - I installed a Sena SMH-10 in an HD modular (not the FXRG but the Capstone) and it was a 10-15 minute install, real easy. I opened my HD headset that came with my CVO and the mounting system looked a lot like the SMH so I figure itd be a similar install.
you can go to eBay and type in harley headset and there is a company that is suppling an IMC brand headset that will install inside helmet...I have two sets in two different modular helmets....as my boys ride with me. I also have another modular with the harley headset that is mounted on outside.....all work great but i prefer the imc brand as it is concealed inside the helmet....
