Talked the wife in to riding with me to a dealership yesterday so she could buy it for me (okay, I paid...). I also wanted her to go so I could get her something nice for Christmas. But anyway, after about 5 (?) months it is finally on the bike!!!
Congratulations, I've been waiting 20 + years for mine. (Would like it to be from family)
By the way, I keep forgetting to thank you for a tip you sent my way this summer; that once I read it made complete sense and more importantly saved me from a bunch of pain. Thank you very much.

I usually try to help people where I can (when I am not in a foul mood) so where did I help you?
Merry Christmas and plant the seed for a family member. They can be bought online as many family members will not go to a Harley shop to get one.
My now deceased mom in law bought mine a few years back when bike was new. Special thing to me and never want to lose so I used a zip tie... I don't trust the little leather ties

Hard to tell in the pic unless you're in the business but what I used was 9 ply lacing cord. It is just that and covered in wax, hence holding the knot forever. Telco prefer this over zip ties over it's longevity. This stuff will outlast the bike unless I rip it off going down. And that has been known to happen.
is that paracord?? I like the thought of your system, but hate the thought of losing my bell.... daughter-in-law and son gave mine to me..... has been moved from one bike to another.... I have mine on with a split ring.

G'day mate. I will be glad to buy you one........just PM me a name and address to send it to.
I may not be family in the traditional sense but if you believe we are all brothers and sisters then you got your wish. either way, I would be proud to send you a Gremlin Bell.

Actually this is the same one on my Road King.
Nice, I replaced the rope with a key ring, mine almost fell off due to fatigue of the leather tie.

That is a fine idea indeed. All packed almost to head out of town for the work week or I would do it now but will make myself a reminder for next weekend. Had hoped to take the new bike for a spin this weekend as I just yesterday installed my banana boards but with a cough/cold my head isn't clear and not a chance I need to take.

Are you crazy riding all those months without one? You're lucky you made it. There used to be a thread here where people get them for one another. That's how I got mine.
