Hello all, i just put in an application over HD website where i make my pymts for my current bike, it came back approved for 20k and some change, but it doesn't give me a % rate, so how d i know what it is or do i have to discuss that with the dealer? Thanks
If you have decent credit, you can get a better deal at a credit union.
not necessarily. when i bought my cvo, eagle mark (hd's lender) gave me 1.9%. my credit union was 6.4%, and the local credit union was even higher.
you won't know unless you check. it's good to have a backup though. that way if you go in and they offer you 7%, you can hit them up with 'my cu is offering 3.5%'. with eagle mark, you are approved for a tier. that means your rate is from x to y. anything above x, the dealer gets a slice of. so it behooves them to get you closer to y.

so what would be considered to high of interest or is around 7% the norm?
is it easier to get a lower rate on a new bike vs used?
now i know why i've always hated shopping for a vehicle!
HD Eaglemark gave me 0.9% for 60 months on my 2015 RGS. Oh and that was with ZERO money down.... There aint a bank nor credit union in the country that could match that.
If youve got a decent tier 1 credit score or had loans through them before on other bikes with no issues they will give you a competitive rate.
Its the guys with a 540 credit score and $10,000 upside down on their old bikes that get raked over the coals as they should......
