Default Are you biased towards your first bike?

My first and only bike is a 2006 XL1200R. It's the Sportster Roadster. I've test rode the Breakout, Fatbob, Wide Glide, 2018 Roadster, V Rod, and the 48. So far I don't like any of them. The rake is short, seat is low, sounds fuel injected, and the tanks are flat and fat. I think basically, I don't like bikes that are not a 2006 Sportster Roadster. Do you become biased towards your first bike?

I'm looking at other bikes because I dig the 103 inch engines.

Hell I don't remember my first motorcycle.
I'm thinking it was a '69 Yamaha 90cc something but I don't remember what.

Biased towards my first bike? That would have been 50 years ago...lol. It looked like this:

I like what I have better now by quite a bit....

Now, if you were to make that girlfriends, that's a different story.

Nope, mine was a 1981 Yamaha maxim, she was rough but served a purpose which was to get me some road experience. I was happy to get rid of it when I got my deuce.

It sounds like the OP has formed a solid connection with his scoot and nothing else comes close. IMO that’s how it should be. There will probably be more scoots on your future but I think your roadster will always be in your garage

To be honest seriously I may be. I have never give it much thought before, but I may be. This is what my first bike looked like,

and this is what I want to build, but without the plastic crap around the head light.

My first bike was a Yamaha Virago 250. Great little starter bike, but that's it - no real ongoing love.

My second bike was a Yamaha V-star 950 - very nice bike that could have possibly been a long-term bike for me, except I started taking longer road trips. The suspension and 5 speed transmission were not quite up to the task.

I am biased toward my current bike - 2014 Road King. It fits me, to the point that I can ride all day and not be sore or tired. I love the looks and sound. Last fall, I test rode several of the new 2018 bikes at a demo day. Afterwards, it felt good to get back on my bike and ride away.

I still have a love affair with my old Bonneville since she was my first. But she knows she can't compare down the interstate to the modern touring HD. I love all my bikes but all for different reasons.
