I was really surprised by how aggressively the dealer tried to push this stuff. You'd think I insulted one of his kids when I said "no thanks."
I realize the dealer is in business to make money, and for the most part my transaction was painless, but this topic turned me off about the experience.
Just out of curiosity, which dealer? My brother went through Garden State HD this year for a bike and it was a great experience. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.

I don't want to bash them on a public forum. My experience was mostly good there, except for this. It was not Garden State HD. You can message me for more.
I finished the deal tonight and the dealer didn't even mention the paint treatment, so no issues. I did see the brochure on his desk, but he never brought it up.
Dealer's only in it to maximize profit, and all that crap they try to push on you in the "business office" is pure gravy to them. It's that much worse if you're buying a new car/truck.
They didn't really try to upsell me on anything other than the paint treatment, which is why I was so surprised that he was unwilling to let it go. He asked if I was interested in a few other things, but didn't really get aggressive until the paint treatment.
They did send me an email a couple weeks after I bought the bike, asking if I was still interested in a bike.
My '07 Ultra had Zylon paint treatment applied by the dealer and right on the bill. I wouldn't pay for it. Never saw any sign of anything protecting the paint. I just waxed it as normal.
I've used JetSeal from Chemical Guys for about a year and a half now. Works excellent. I use it on EVERYTHING except plastic lenses. Polishes and protects chrome and paint. Give it a shot.
