Thank you for all your replies fellas. What I'm looking for is pure unadulterated tyre shredding grunt, more so than speed. Wasnt sure on the best path to go down, starting with a bigger inch engine and building that up or doing mine, ie: 96/103 rods, my crank ? 98" S&S cylinders, pistons, not sure how much meat is in the stock cyls to bore. A mate suggested the 98" S&S pots and 45ml Mikuni to start. The bike has 65,000 klms but has been rebuilt once by the previous owner, (not sure to what spec) but it is not standard. I do know during the last build gear driven cams ( quiet lumpy) were fitted along with adjustable push rods etc.
This work was done over the past 2 builds, some by previous owner, and some by myself,
I think it came up quite nice myself. Thinking of possibly going with a black springer front end for a bit of a change also, what do you guys think ? About a springer front ?
