Soo... this happened on Saturday morning. My girl and I were headed to a local dealership to look at shirts. Stopped for a red light, there must have been a fuel leak... and the damn thing flamed up. We hopped of the bike and my girlfriend's boot was on fire so I dropped the bike and tried to get the fire off of of her. We ended up taking the burning boot off of her only to find her sock burning also. Buy the time I got her all sorted out and turned my attention to the bike... it was fully engulfed.
Nobody hurt but the bike is a total loss. Just built it too... only got about 500 miles since the total restoration.
You can see me and my girl standing on the shoulder (in the far right) watching it burn. Thats her boot burning a few feet behind the bike.
It was a pretty good looking bike
I've already bought another bike, a 2007 FXDB. I'll pick it up thursday or friday:
Sorry to hear and see. The main thing is no one was seriously injured. Did GF suffer any bad burns?
Not a scratch or even a red mark on either of us!!!

I wil see what I can save. I'm sure the motor will run again after being re-sealed.
The frame, forks and wheels should all be useable after some work.
I have no plans (at the moment) to put this bike back together but will try to salvage as much as I can and try to sell off the motor, tranny and frame.
