Just a reminder when you message someone about riding - we all aren’t ‘guys’.
Not offended, actually made me chuckle a bit, but got a message that started with “Hey guy....”
I’m a gal, and have been riding for over 35 years, not counting riding 2-up with my daddy since I was little. Have a RK and an Ultra. Put some serious miles on before grad school started over-riding my time *pun intended *.
😃
We could use a gender-identification icon next to our avatars....right? And I'm trying to figure out the better way of saying "Hey guy"...to a woman. "Hey girl", "Hey you", "Hey lady"...it's awkward for me, lol. I think I'd better just play it safe and go with "Hey".

Well I think whoever sent you a message didn't look at your name "puddles 13" . To me that kinda points in the female direction. I just can't believe most guys would have a forum name like that, unless lol. Hey and any Lady who rides is a notch up on the ones that don't, well most of the time lol. And I bet you have been called by other names that you didn't want lol.
I will just call you biker babe, how's that?

Yes, but will we be provided with a gender fluid icon lol. And hello young lady usually goes over well,

You sound offended, at least enough to make a new post about it. I can't imagine the regulars here (ladies) having the slightest reaction to that. If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll soon be corrected.
PS, you're using screen names, not gender specific forenames.

Not even going into some of the screen names I've seen. I wouldn't take anyone's screen name as a positive gender identifier though.
