Default 2007 Overheat??

I purchased my first Harley 3 weeks ago today and I'm loving it! I've read with interestseveralthreads on the 2007 heat issues and I agree that things get a little heated at stop lights. I live in South Florida and drive 3 miles (ifI take the shortest route)to work every day. Three miles and 7 lights, all timed to red[:@]. I've also taken several long road trips in 90+ degree heat every weekend. I should add, I traded in a Suzuki C50T and it got just as hot a the lights when the fan kicked in, and it usually did.

My question is this, our favorite body parts do get a little uncomfortable under these conditions, but has anyone really experienced a breakdown from an 2007 overheat?

Ratherride hot on a Harley than ride coolon animitation!

I have a 07 sportster and I haven't experienced anything yet. I have ran it in the hottest of days here in MI, and haven't had any problems other than the little bit of heat that radiates off onto me at the lights that you say.

I ride in TEXAS and have had heat during rush hour trips home from work.
Hey, what should one expect?
I was riding in about 95F heat with 90% humidity this week.
Of course it was hot.
I feel the heat coming off the engine, but haven't had any issues.
If Ihad a problem beinghot at stop lights during the Texas summers, I'd drive my truck to work.
But I don't, so I don't.

Theres know way it will overheat in that short of a time span. If you start an 07 up and let it idle, it would take an hour to get close to overheating. You dont have anything to worry about moving some air.

It was 110 here yesterday when I rode home from work, and it's supposed to be 113 today. My 07 EG hasn't overheated yet. As a matter of fact, I didn't feel any heat off of the engine yesterday and don't expect to today- it's just hot all over, can't tell the difference between the engine heat and the heat.
