Anyone heard anything on possible changes on the 08's .. Ive been told they come out in august but no indication of when in august. The reason im asking is my glide classic may be totaled and i was just pondering wether that happened if i should look for an 07 or hold tight for an 08? Id really like another 06 but im sure thats not gonna happen? The Indy thats doing the crash estimate on my bike told me monday that the front end istweaked outta shape too. Were both hoping its a total. It took a beating after sliding down the road and high siding on both sides! mUSTA SLAMMED THE BARS AND THE FRONT END PRETTY GOOD. (oops caps lock.) I didnt even go check the damage to the front end cause im still pi$$ed that its wrecked I just stopped to see if he had the estimate done yet and he didnt. No biggie i guess as im off for VA on vacation in the cage this saturday. Ill have to check next week. I kinda messed up our vacation on the bike... Ive still got 2 puncture wounds in my right elbow and i think im going on 3 weeks since the crash. very slow to heal and its still swelled some! At least im alive to ride again..

'08 models will be announced at the dealer conference in July... I think it is the week before the 4th, but not sure.
Until then, everyting is speculation.... accept everyone seems to be convinced the Wide Glide is history (I have a friend who was at a dealer, and this dealer knows something that every other dealer is clueless about... and he is choosing to openly violate his non disclosure agreement... so anyway, he told my friend, in strict confidence mind you, that the Wide Glide would be discontinued)
edit: looks like the post above mine has the correct date info... I guess we were both typing at the same time
AZ Rider is almost correct...as I understand it from a source that I can not openingly identify, the old version of the muffler bearing will be changed from a ball bearing to a more reliable needle bearing on every bike except softails and sportys ( and of course, before I get blasted...I know that the sporty doesn't even have a muffler bearing). Further...black bikes will no longer be faster and baggers will still be allowed to be nominated for BOTM but not allowed to accumolate votes.
Good catch there, Silver. I have been waiting for yeras for Harley to go with the needle type bearings in the muffler. Glad to hear they're going to put them into production bikes.
The Baker muffer bearing kit was an expensve aftermarket option but well worth it.
