We are getting down to the final weeks before the Gettysburg Bike Week and it's time to start putting together the ride plan for the N. Virginia HDF members.
I will put together the meeting points from Stafford, Virginia to Gettysburg and lead the ride if there are any others interested.
Ride will be on Friday, 13 July, leaving the Aquia Town Plaza at 1300 (1:00PM). Route will be I-95 north to I-495, to I-270, to Rt. 15, to 134 into Gettysburg. I will plan a few stops along the way to pick up riders from DC, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Departure times will be about 1330, 1400 and 1430 respectively.
EasternSP,
Firestarter and I have been talking about heading up Friday morning, leaving out about 0900-1000. Nothing real firm yet. He's in Dumfries and I'm in Vienna. We'd be happy to have some folks who want to leave a little earlier join us. I'd like to try to make it up there early enough to get to York and tour the Harley plant. I think they stop the tours at 2:00.
I am looking for a group that would be leaving early friday or late thurs afternoon from around thr fredricksburg area... I was not planning on taking I95 or 495 but rather taking back roads upto fredrick, md.
I'm trying to get out of work for the 14th.....don't know if you guys read about my dispatch assisant being badly injured in a car accident. So I am having to work some weekends until I can hire someone. I will probably take Rt. 15 out of Haymarket/Gainesville area that Saturday morning if I'm able to go.
I and several others from the general "NOVA" area ride up every year together...
