My 07 Electra Glide Kickstand Spring comes (off by the stand end, not the engine end), when I ride over Bumps and releases the Kickstand into standing position thereby nearly knocking the bike over, please how do i stop this from happening?
i can't stress this enough-read the manual when it comes to reinstalling the spring. it is really a simple job, can be done in less than 5 minutes, without the aid of vice grips, pennies, etc.
if you have a wheel chock, great. if not, just have someone hold it up for you. take the top tab off of the jiffy stand, swing it forward towards the front fender (don't let go of it yet, you will ding your fender if you do). this will take the tension off of it. remove the spring, put the new one on, then swing it back and replace the top tab. boom, done.

The one on my wife's Dyna broke completely when we were in Cedar Rapids on a Sunday morning. She started dragging the kickstand. I had a piece of coathanger wire, and that got her home, until I could get a new one.
