SYN3, $12.95 per quart bottle.
SYN3, $48.95 per gallon jug.
5 out of 4 people struggle with math.😉
Quicksilver 20-50 full synthetic @ Walmart for $26 a gallon. How's that for math?
Quicksilver oil is a product of Mercury Marine. They cast crankcases for Harley in the 90's. They know more than a little bit about air cooled v-twins. I'd rather use their oil than Syn3 & you can't beat the price.
One standard 11105 o-ring at my dealer: $1.99. Amazon: 100 o-rings for $3.99.
Just bought chrome K&N oil filters from Walmart.com. And that's embarrassing to admit because I really, really hate Walmart. But, $7.88 each and free store pickup is too hard to resist.
I bought 4 yesterday and thought I got shafted at $1 each, that’s like buy one get one free compared to your stealership.
do the Amazon o rings have an Amazon logo instead of the HD logo?

How is the Mercury Quicksilver oil working in your bike's transmission and primary? BTW, Mercury marine engines are water cooled.
I was looking in the HD website and noticed that they have a package for oil changes which includes 5 qts of 20W 50 360 conventional, a black 5 micron filter and 1 Oring for the drain plug. Total price is $57.95. If you price out the same products individually you come out with a price of $50.39 for the same products.
I would think buying the oil change package would be cheaper. But in this case it seems not. Just a heads up for you all so you can save a couple bucks.
Someones gotta pay for shipping, and I guess thats the $7.
Trip to Walmart 4 quarts of Mobil 1 v-twin 20w 50 And a quick buzz up the road for a chrome Harley oil filter = $48 bucks, And on the way home a Wendys chicken pecan salad and ya break even.
And when ya get home the oils all nice and hot ready to change .....
I inferred from Tommy C's post that he was using marine motor oil in his Harley.
Motorcycle oil that meets the JASO MA2 spec is GTG.
I was referring to the Quicksilver 20-50 synthetic motorcycle oil formulated for air cooled v-twins, not marine lubricants. Sorry I wasn't more specific.

I wasn't recommending one oil over another. It was an example of bulk pricing, which related to the thread topic, and the OP's desire to give everyone a heads up.
One mention of the word "oil", and it soon becomes a debate, as evidenced by the direction this thread has taken.
