I have gloves for all situations...even the extreme heat... Olympia mesh gloves do really good...then tons of leather gloves for all weather situation...The key is for them to be extremely comfortable, then you will more likely wear them.

I’ve had 4 motorcycle wrecks in my 45 year riding career. Two of them involved road rash (the other two were off road). The second one, I hit a car, went over the bars, bounced off the trunk lid and ended up in a sitting position in the intersection. My only injury was road rash to both palms. It hurt like hell and took a long time to heal. I wear fingerless leather gloves in the summer and leather gauntlets in the winter but I’m on the hunt for some nice full fingered leather gloves for warm weather. The fingerless gloves are nice but I’m a musician and need to do all I can to protect my hands. Hard to play guitar if you grind all the hide off your fingers.

churchill and vanson both make perforated leather gloves. Im willing to bet fox creek sells some too.
Oddly enough it's the one thing I don't compromise on. Today I rode without a jacket on (not typical) and now I have funky pale hands and tan arms. Looks pretty weird.
