Default Fuel Additive

Does anyone have a recommendation for a fuel additive? I would like to add something that would clean out my 2012 fuel injected 103 ci Harley Heritage Softail Classic.

Thanks,

I use " Klotz " , recommended by My Indy. Run it every tank in My FXDS/Conv. Keeps it clean and an octane boost if You use a bit more. Also I use it as a winter time stabilizer. I just order it of Amazon.

Your probably gonna get as many different replies as an oil or tire brand thread but here’s my 2 cents

Techron is one of the best additives out there (works good and reasonably priced), for keeping everything clean and normally dirty fuel systems, but if you have a heavily carbonned engine and very dirty injectors 3m makes a 3part system that works very very good (although pretty pricey and requires a special tool to hook to the fuel line ) I’m an auto mechanic and those are what we use at the shop after trying them all.

As long as you buy gas from a high volume top tier station, you really don’t need to run an additive because it’s already in there but a little extra doesn’t hurt every time the oil gets changed. Also be sure to run the rpms up from time to time (extra fuel flow to keep injectors clean and heat to burn carbon from combustion chamber) some people think they are taking care of there bike by always babying it but if you’ve ever seen the inside of an engine that never exceeds 3k rpm you’d realize that it can cause more harm than good.

Winter storage always use an ethanol specific stabilizer unless you are lucky enough to have pure gas near you then just regular old stabil

Same here I have been using this in my bike and boat and snowmobile for 30 years. I will never not use it. It's been good to me over the years,

Seafoam is usually my go to. I have ran Techron in the past but when I decide to run a cleaner for some reason I forget about it. But I regularly run non ethanol fuel, like every other tank so anything I add is just a kind gesture to my bikes. I am grateful for the reminder and guess I just need to pick up a few bottles. But to OP, anything for the most part that you do as far as additives is never a bad idea. My carbed bike I tend to be more careful with than the new one.
