I am looking at JP cycles at the re-pops and honestly the prices are all over the board for what appears to be the same thing even from the same manufacturer. Then it gets worse that it looks as if buying the individual components is cheaper than buying the kit.
Anyone have any input on what you have used? I realize of course almost no one uses pogo seats but I think they are cool and have the look I want. SO on the off chance that someone here is using one I thought I would ask.
I took the original one off my Shovel shortly after I bought it 40 years ago. It was the most uncomfortable thing even when my *** was 40 years younger.
Sorry, sold it at a swap meet, otherwise you would be welcome to it.

That's something I hadn't thought of...maybe someone will see my post that has one. That would be even better!
Running an original buddy seat on my 49 and a tractor (solo) seat on my 65. I think they are one of the best designed seats HD has developed. Takes a lot of the bumps out of the ride. There are two types of spring sets, standard and heavy duty. Standard is for up to 220 lbs.
Not sure about J&P prices but another place to look is V-Twin. They have on-line place I order from since I am not a shop owner. www.shopzoom4parts.com At least gives you something to compare with on price.
Seat T prices seem to vary quite a bit dependent on condition and solo seats the same.
Absent those sites as mentioned, swap meets are a good place, maybe even find one on flea bay

I have the other type of pogo seat on my 73 FLH. It's known as the "bear trap" or "comfort flex" seat. It's kind of like a really big pogo seat. I love it and it's actually more cushy of a ride than even my EVO Road king.
You should be able to get a used one if you know where to dig. There are a few used motorcycle parts guys out there. I know of one in St. Louis who advertises used OEM HD stuff on Craigslist every once in a while. You could also post a request for one in the shovelhead section right here. Another option is joining shovelhead.us. I know someone over there will have one.
sorry tried to post a pic of '79 with solo seat not much luck.. if you want to view it's a couple of pages back in the shovelhead "pix of your shovels", but I'm guessing you know what they look like. The signature pic of my '76 has a solo seat but it is shall we say "firm".

Reason: Multiple posts
As far as looks and spring they are hard to beat but if you have lower back or lumbar issues forget it. Invest in a kidney belt.
I've got a set of hardware and 2 different saddles one is the normal tractor seat and 1the other is the big solo that I took off my old Pan many many years ago.
I've had them on a few time since for grins but It doesn't take long to remember why I took them off.
Very comfortable seats, I ride a rigid with a solo pogo and over 95% of the bumps you forget you are on a rigid. So with a swingarm bike I can only imagine it must be full on Cadillac time.
To my knowledge Ted's V-Twin makes all of the parts, other outlets all just selling his stuff. But for me I would try swap meets or the Bay and get HD parts. They fit better and are usually about 100% better in quality over Taiwan Ted stuff. Good luck.
