Default How to attach Circular Seat Pads to seats?

Just wondering if any of you who have this type of seat pad know how they are "supposed" to attach to the seats? No instructions came with the pads.

I solved the problem using velco fasteners but I'm wondering if I'm going to experience any problems with the velcro adheasive in the heat when riding.

After attaching the rider pad to the seat, I added some small 1" square velcro soft sides onto the rear of the seat and attached the short straps to them For the passenger seat pad I did the same thing, the 1" square soft sides attached to the front of the passenger seat that the short straps get attached to. I added one more velcro fastener (both halves, soft side attached to the seat) at the rear of the passenger seat to keeep the pad from flopping in the breeze when riding solo. When not riding 2 up I will just take the passenger pad off easily and put it in the saddle bag.

The rider seat had a tendency to shift sideways, especially when mounting so I added another two part velcro fastener on either side near the front. Now it stays in place.

I have only ridden with them in place for a short jaunt but I could actually feel the cool air under my butt. Will be giving it a more substantial test tommorow hoping it helps to keep my butt dry.

I cant comment on the passenger pad, but I personally just sit on mine.

elastic goes under the nose of the seat... my fat *** is used to hold the pad in place.

No issues for 1000 miles last week.

It's an "inelegant" solution, but I got a couple of small D rings that the 2 velcro straps on the rider pad wrap around, and then used some small carabiners to attach the D rings to the grab strap on the rear seat - - it keeps the rider pad from blowing off on a windy day (obviously when I'm not on it).

Not sure what could be done with the passenger pad ....

I have had one for a a few years. Used it with an Ultra and now the Road King. I only use it on long road trips and when I do, it gets used off and on as I find after a certain amount of time, it starts feeling weird. It tends to bunch up on me over time, even when properly secured. As far as the cooling/dry benefits, for me it is somewhat noticeable but not profound. It does offers marginal cushion benefits although that is not its intended purpose.I mainly use it simply because on long rides of a thousand miles or more, I like to switch things up just to have a different feel in the seat.

The one I picked up off Amazon is "sticky" on the bottom. Doesn't slide around at all.

My seat is a Reach seat with a Grasshopper Backrest so I don't have the grab strap installed. Since theree was noting to attach to in the back I was thinking of using another elastic band around the rear of the seat that the little straps could attach to, but the Velcro seemed to be a simpler solution and it works for now. Will see after a longer ride in the heat. The problem with the passenger pad was th same, nothing to attach to.

Guys that have the CIRCULATOR SEAT PAD do you hook the Velcro straps around the seat strap or do you just leave the back part loose ???

I used some soft side of velcro pads attached/aheared to the back of the seat that I attach the short straps to that come on the back of the Circulat pad. I have a Reach seat so they would not reach the strap even if it was still installed which it is not since I have a Grasshopper Backrest installed.

I plan to modify the elasic strap on the front of the seat pad that goes under seat so I don't have to take the seat off to mount/unmount the seat pad. I find it does not keep if the pad from sliding side to side very well anyway, especially when I get on and off the bike as I have to do a step over....I'm too short to do a leg swing over.

I attached the passenger pad in a similar way...the pad facing with the short straps forward. Added one velcro (both parts) under the sissybar back rest top secure the rear of the pad.

One word of advice....don't use the velcro that are for exterior use as they are not "HOOK & LOOP" and they separate too easily. Suggest looking for Heavy duty Hook and Loop that is better than what they sell in Office depot, more like what they use for slipcover use..

They are working good for me.
