Funny, as I read this thread, me and 4 buddies were going to ride up to a car show tonight and a few days ago the first guy sent out a group text about it. I was the only one that answered.
Skip to today ,its over 100 degrees and around 90% humidity, I'm now blowing it off and the only guy going so far is the first guy who sent the text.

No, thats too far, why dont we go over to the neighborhood watering hole like 15 minutes away? Ok. ( Thinking to myself,'No non riding MF'er... i would have went to the Irish pub myself.)
Nothing like friends who say "sure, I'll go with you" and then try to change YOUR ride. It's like, MF'er, if I wanted to do something else....

I have that retired friend that calls me during the week, "hey, what's up?". I'm like...."Working, dude".

In my group, no one has ever said "no, that's too far"...

Same for me, trying to get 4 guys open to ride on the same day is like pulling teeth. I have one guy that is ready to ride most any time, now he has Cancer. So I gave up on the rest and pray for him. I still have my son, but he works a lot and my wife on her Freewheeler. But I do love riding solo now. I don't want to spend hours trying to pic a day that will make everyone happy. 15 years ago it was easy to get the gang together, now they have to do something with the family every other day and take care of there grand kids almost every day.

I'm usually the one that sends invites out for a ride. I give my intended destination because I hate to start the first argument of the day with the words, "so where do you want to go?" I announce the meet spot, date and the time I will be KSU and I don't ask twice. If you're there you go and if you're not, c'est la vie I'm off to see the Wizard.

I usually ride alone, which I like best. I can ride, stop, eat shat, and head home any time I want. I do have a riding buddy. He traded in an interstate on a road master. I usually hit him up for a ride at least once a month. If I don't call him, he will call me if he has something in mind. Usually meet at his place and just have to wait till he finishes his coffee and get dressed. 50% of the time we have to stop for gas, but once we get started he is good to go. If he picks the ride I stop when he stops and vice versa. Last time out we did 450 miles in 11.5 hours and only stopped once for breakfast, about 30 minutes, and once for an adult beverage, about 30 minutes. No complaints from either seat
