Arai full face. I wear ear plugs to reduce wind noise and have no problem hearing Sirius radio. Needless to say 90 degrees is my limit for heat with the full face. I wish my good friend Pete had not been wearing a beanie helmet when he went down at an intersection at 5 mph.

I always wore full face when I road sport bikes but when I got my Harley I got a half helmet, I makes me feel naked though and seems like my head got to much wind buffet as did sun glasses, went back to a full face modular with inside sun visor a week ago and I feel much better this way.

I have 3 helmets that I wear, and a few more that I don’t for various reasons (primarily fit / comfort). The one I wear the most is my Shoei Neotec modular. It was expensive but I can wear it all day and almost forget it is there. Venting keeps my head cool when it hot and they can be closed when it is cold. It has a built in sun visor so no need to change out glasses. My 3/4 helmet is by HJC, good quality and was my go-to helmet until I bought the Shoei. My half helmet is a Daytona and what can I say - it’s a half helmet, wind (and rocks and bugs) in my face. I still wear it some, but less as time goes on. I wore it on my ride in to work earlier this week, and took a nice rock to my face passing a semi. My mug is ugly enough without taking a beating from the road.

Why I wore, and still wear a FF Helmet.

I came to in the E.R. with a Leo at the foot of my gurney holding my helmet (pictured) saying; "I gotta get me one of these!"

I wear a Shoei GT Air FF from Sept-March. The rest of the year I wear a HD Lucid Ultra Light. I absolutely love this helmet. Dreading the transition next week and the FF affords so much protection I should wear it all the time. The FF is just too hot in the summer here in Texas.

I wear a half helmet most times unless it's cold. Then an Arai full face is my choice.... because my comfort is worth it!

Bike with a fairing and or full height windscreen, half or open face helmet, bike with no windscreen or just a flyscreen, full face helmet.

Daytona half helmet for summer and shorter rides. Bell Qualifier DLX (blackout) full-face for long interstate trips and cold weather. Solo rider so I don't have the Bluetooth/Sena stuff and don't like music when riding. I find that the FF limits my vision, but I can live with it at sustained 65-70 mph and semi noise (etc.). FF is, of course, much heavier, too. On long trips, I take the Daytona for local riding and secure it with a "bungee net" to the top of my luggage. Almost never ride without helmet.

I have worn all of them and i like the 3/4 Shoei RJ Platinum the best. I can wear a full face or modular but only when cold weather sets in. With this current heat I wear a half with ear plugs.

I use an Arai 3/4 helmet with a shield even though I know it won't protect me as well as a full face in a crash. One of my two mounts is a Road King and the instruments are on the tank console. A 3/4 helmet with a shield allows me to move only my eyes to check the instruments as opposed to dipping my head to see over a chin bar. At 60 mph, in one half second you travel 44 feet; I try to avoid or minimize looking away from the road while moving. I may live to regret it (or not) but I look at it this way; I "might" crash but I "for sure" have to see the instruments every ride.
