First Harley I ever rode wasn't fuel injected and I remember the guy telling me before I took it for a test ride that I had to do the "Harley thing" at stop lights if it felt like it was going to stall out. I do think a lot of guys who've been on Harley's do some things out of habit and this is one of them. I still blip the throttle when I down shift and there's probably no reason to do that although it does seem to make for a smoother down shift IMO. It's a habit that started back when I started riding....
I never rev my bike (just to rev match) because I find it extremely cheesy only second to the crotch rocket attention getters who redline their bikes in neutral. So lame.
Try different color ear plugs,
a different riding buddy...
as long as you stay passive agresive and complain to us and not him, the situation is not apt to change .
When did all the men become milksops?
And what do you do at the firing range?
It's not a complaint, my solution is to park away from him
I'm a woman
I hit the target at the range, pretty good actually
I'm just asking if it's bad for the engine, if you don't know then why bother whining on here?
A guy I ride with has a CVO SG and every time he starts his bike he does 2 vroom vrooms. I try not to park by him because it's loud and obnoxious and hurts my ears.
Is it bad for the bike? His bike is always in the shop for engine work so I just wonder if he is causing some of the problems.
On the other hand, maybe he's just trying to impress you with what he has and is trying to make points with ya.
Lauren, If he is a close friend ask him to knock it off. I know I would appreciate a friend telling me if something I do aggravates them. And believe my my wife tells me often.

Matching RPMs with the wheel speed is the correct way to downshift, otherwise youll wear out your tire faster and it puts a lot of strain on the driveline. Youre doing it just fine, no worries, and thats why its smoother when you do.
As for blipping the throttle other times, its not necessary with a fuel injected bike unless the tune sucks *** and its running like crap at low RPMs.

Just the facts mam -
You want him to be quiet ? Or want to enforce him top be quiet with
insider information?
HD engines are roller bearing and require very little oil.
Anymore most people use syn oil which has a pretty good pour rate if proper viscosity is used.
The only thing and person he is hurting are his own eardrums.
