A guy I ride with has a CVO SG and every time he starts his bike he does 2 vroom vrooms. I try not to park by him because it's loud and obnoxious and hurts my ears.
Is it bad for the bike? His bike is always in the shop for engine work so I just wonder if he is causing some of the problems.

I think it is a leftover from the days of carbs, at least it is for me. I tend to hit once as it starts and I honestly believe it is left over from my having owned Carbed British cars.
