I came across what I thought was a very interesting piece in a barn on Cape Cod and took it home with me but I don't know much about it and wanted to see if any one had any insight. Its a 1972 AMG/Harley Davidson golf cart with 4 wheels. I've seen the three wheelers with the crazy handle bar steering but not one like this. What I could find online says it has a 250cc engine (has the Harley placard on it) and goes like a bat outta hell. I have a ***** of woods and was planning on letting the kids beat on it but now Im curious if it should be in a collection somewhere with some one that can treat it right and preserve it. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
they're not worth much nor are the HD golf carts rare. like was said the 4 wheelers are rarer than the 3 wheelers. a guy i use to work with has 3 of them, all woods finds and he gets them for free.
It does! Theres a AMG Harley placard on the front. Not sure where you can find these woods finds but in the Northeast theyre not common to find running from what I can tell. I just had it all tuned up and she runs great!

I have a 4 wheel Harley cart I found in a river. Pulled it out after a couple of days digging in the river bottom. Actually did manage to get the original tdc engine to run. As it is they don't keep points gapped because of the case is the Crank bearing or bushing an no replacement available. I put a 500 Suzuki 2 stroke engine from an eltigre 500 snow mobile on it. It's a hand full at 70+ mph but fun. I have two more I'm putting 4 strokes on. 6.5 Honda's. Obviously for leisure.
Those carts were actually made when Harley was owned by American Machine and Foundry (AMF). AMF was primarily a sporting goods company. They also sold AMF Harley snowmobiles, and several light Harley motorcycles actually made by an Italian outfit. I can remember riding one of those carts back in the 70's. Some big hotel golf course in Phoenix near Camelback used them. But they didn't have that "Harley" sound.
