I have a friend who owns a golf course. I park in his heated basement with the golf carts. Top off the tank on the way out with sta-bil in it, plug in battery tender and cover. Oh yeah, change the oil shortly before I park it, couple weeks before, and let it sit. Never any issues come spring. I would change oil, fill up and use sta-bil, get a battery tender and park. heated or not, your call. if you have the space, go for it!!

I use to do all that stuff when I was younger, but now I'm just old and crazy. I have heated gear and ride all winter - screw storing it - that's for sissys.
I'm not paying $35+K for a bike and then storing it for 5 to 6 months every year. I love the looks I get from cage drivers.
I just spray the bike down with S100 Corrosion Protectant and hose it off in March = been rust free for many years.

Whoa! It gets cold up where you're at.
Full tank with stabil, battery tender and that's about it for me. I change the oil in spring before I do much riding. Some might say that needs changed before storing and they may be right.
Ya don't need a lift either. It won't hurt the tires to set all winter. Just be sure to check them next spring. See ya in Spring!

In addition to what Frostbite wrote, I move the bike every few weeks just to avoid any potential flat spots on the tires.

One mistake a lot of people do is to start the bike and let it run for a few minutes. This will cause condensation which can create more problems. If you absolutely must hear it run during the winter, you need to let it run until the engine is fully warm.

Here in Colorado I usually get a chance ride a couple of times a month so I don’t do all that other stuff...just keep it on a battery tender when it is in the garage.

Why on Earth would anyone stay in Michigan for the Winter? That's gotta be a real hellhole anytime, but WINTER!?

I'm ****...

-Drive bike to local station & fill fuel
-Add Sta-Bil & ride home
-Drain oil, change filter & fill oil
-Push bike out, complete wash/dry/wax
-Remove plugs & squirt oil in cyls
-Run up on jack, put in gear & turn tire (spreads oil in cyl walls)
-Oil all cables/hinge points, etc.
-Coat seat w/HD protectant
-Wipe tire cleaner on rubber
-Push in place (garage) on jack
-Plug in tender
-Cover, shed a tear & wait for Spring

I might be missing a step, or two, but you get my Tokyo Drift.

If I stored a motorcycle in my house, the gas tank would be empty. You shouldn't have to worry about condensation in the house during winter.

I stored my Sportster in the house the first year I owned it and there's a couple of pros & cons to it.
Pro- That was the cleanest, shiniest Sportster in Pennsylvania when I rolled it out in the Spring. I had lots of time to polish and clean.
Con- I hated to walk into my dining room every day because the bike was there taunting me, begging to be rode.
