One mistake a lot of people do is to start the bike and let it run for a few minutes. This will cause condensation which can create more problems. If you absolutely must hear it run during the winter, you need to let it run until the engine is fully warm.
Here in Colorado I usually get a chance ride a couple of times a month so I dont do all that other stuff...just keep it on a battery tender when it is in the garage.
Absolutely correct. That condensation turns to an acidic sludge and that ain't good for the engine. There's really no need to start a bike/car every month or so.........unless you NEED to hear it. Just like it sit there and rest up for next year.
If you don't get the bike off the wheels, at least put something under it, like a rug or what I do, a large piece of corrugated cardboard that I get from my shop. Anything to block the moisture from the floor reaching all that nice shinny metal.

You can say the same thing about Florida. Why on earth would anyone stay in Florida for the summer? That's gotta be a real hellhole anytime = hurricanes, floods, Q-Tips, alligators, Disneyworld, etc. LOL TIC

To the OP- after doing the suggestions above, I have one more for ya.
Buy a used snowmobile. Northern MI & the Yoop have killer sled trails. You can sell the sled when you move.
