Default Selling a bike with high miles

I know it's a bad time of the year, and I know there is a glut of used bikes, and I know you need to take a bath to sell a bike these days... All of that aside, I'm just curious if you have had any luck even selling a bike with "high miles" pushing 70k. (Also has engine mods... FM 107 package)

Am I wasting my time thinking anyone would even consider it? From what I read, even the dealers are going to be reluctant to trade it in. Am I just stuck with it for good now?

Post an ad and see. The worst that can happen is you get some tire kickers and lowballers.

I've stopped worrying about it. At this point, repairs, upgrades and improvements are what I do. At least I know what's going on inside it, as opposed to buying new and figuring out what the factory hasn't perfected yet.

Yep, I already did. Craiglist, CycleTrader, Ebay... I was just more curious if anyone had any luck selling a high mileage bike. If they did, did they have to just give it away to get rid of it. I did contact a couple dealers and they both said, right now they'd still trade it, but it's getting close to the point they wouldn't want it either because they said they won't be able to sell it.

Yep, this is the direction I am leaning. I just figured I'd try to see if I could sell it. If not, I'll do just what you are doing.

Is 70K 'High Mileage' ( I think not)o. i know a guy who paid good money for a Road King with 43K on it. It depends on how well its maintained IMO. There could be a nice garage kept 73K bike, and a 9K bike that sat out in the weather for a few years, which one is better?

My dealer told me they don't like to take trades on bikes with over 80,000 miles, as they can no longer offer a warranty on it.

If the price is right, you'll sell it. As they say, there's an *** for every seat.

For a car/truck, 70k isn’t bad at all because so many other cars out there will have similar or more mileage on them. People don’t think twice about it. But with bikes, it’s a different story because the mileage figure is swayed the other way.

80k hey. Ya I think each dealer is a bit different. I'll most likely just store it here soon when winter rolls in and list it again in the spring and just see what happens. That'll give me the winter to contemplate keeping it... lol

Default For the right price

anything will sell. Just depends on how low you are willing to go. You could never replace it for the amount you will get for it, so just keep it and ride on.
