That's kind of the way I ride now also. The older I get the less I like riding in colder weather, and if I don't like it why do it?

You really rode 30 miles in freezing temp. wearing a T shirt? Damn, you really can't stand the heat.

Back in the day when I lived and worked in town, I would ride anytime it wasn't icy or snowing. I only had 3 miles to go anyway. I then got a job 75 miles away every 3 days, and one day I rode a Kaw 650 with a fairing in 40 degree dry weather. Had a full face helmet a orange one piece snowmobile suit, gloves and insulated boots. Before my shift was over the next day the temp was 15 F and the roads had a solid sheet of ice under blowing and drifting snow from double digit winds. Cars with 4 wheels were going off the road in some places. One guy who was shoveling snow looked at me as I rode like I was nuts. It was a long ride scary ride home but I made it. I vowed never to do that again.

Man I need to move back to FL. Fall , Winter & Spring are the best riding times of the year. I also like the heat. I never minded the heat or the rain if warm out.

Today is my magic number & condition. 45F and raining near Albany, NY. YUCK!

I'm good down to about 28 degrees with heated gear, about 38 with standard stuff. I could probably ride colder, but I fear the bike not starting when I leave work after sitting in 20 degree weather all day.

Southern Arizona is the place to be this time of year. Summers here are brutal (110+), but highs in Winter are usually 60's / 70's all season long. My cutoff point is about 50, which doesn't happen much around here.

Have done from 30"s to 100+. Hate both extremes. So right now anything above my age and below 100 is good. But did ride this morning with it being 50 out.

" on a side note... when is the USA going to step into the real world and drop Fahrenheit and go Celsius like the rest of the world?"
Never. We have zero idea how much something Celsius is. Metric system is for socialists.

For me, anything less than 80 Fahrenheit is misery...'cause I know it's gonna get down in the 50s at night. And YES; it DOES get cold in Florida, just not THAT cold for THAT long. So when it happens, we ain't used to it. Don't like those 65 degree wind-chills.

Here in Maine it's a pretty short season. I'm going to probably put the bikes away in another 2 weeks. I'm done with riding to work because the mornings are about 32-38 degrees.......that's too cold for me. I did 36 last year and it sucked. I'll do 42ish in the morning as long as when I'm out of work it's in the mid 50's. So I guess I guess my sweet spot starts at a low of 45 and goes to as hot as the state gets.

That, and if they've started sliming the roads yet. Around here in winter they use chemical deicer, and it is horrible on aluminum alloy wheels. Slime starts showing up in November and doesn't stop until February.

Mid-30's isn't a problem. Heated seat, heated grips, fully lined windproof textile jacket, real riding pants, Klim gloves, full coverage helmet.

Like a lot of the comments above, for me it isn't about the air temp, it's about the road surface. If it's below freezing, and the road isn't bone dry, I'm not riding.
