Having a car is transportation, having a bike is a relationship.

Some women you find are great, whole relationship nothing goes wrong, all smiles and cuddles. They cook okay, they shop okay, they bang okay. They answer calls, they text back, they make plans, theyre pretty, they dont smoke, dont drink, dont party, no tattoos. And the vanilla missionary sex is good too. Shes just all around, cookie cutter, apple pie and white picket fence good, reliable and predictable. She'll always be there, you'll never have an issue.

Thats not a harley.

A harley is the chick with a few tattoos, curses, fights with you, has some issues. If you have a scar from a woman, yeah, that was a harley. If you ever f*ck till the sun comes up, and cant walk the next day, yup, harley. If you've ever had all your **** burned in the yard because miranda (your cousin) called your phone, heyyy harley. She's gonna have screaming, throwing **** tantrums with you, youre gonna argue, youre gonna fight, youre gonna have mindd-blowing sex. ****, she might even assault you. Might get a black eye or a dad comin after you. Definitely gonna have some broken bed posts and a few pairs of sheets. Shes gonna do dumb ****...because shes friggin crazy and deep down just needs someone to be there for her no matter what.

The first chick is okay, thats an absolutely fine relationship, many would be 100% happy there, never broken, doesnt need fixing.

Personally tho, i want a little broken, a little rough, needs some care, isnt too predictable. I need the connection, i need to work on it, i need to do this together, and i need some scars and tattoos to remind me what we went through, that's a passion.

Bottom line: if she never tried to kill you...does she even like you? I guess each has to decide for themselves, i dont care either way what you do. I know where im at tho, and thats why.

Its not about the ease, or reliability, or looks
.....its about the bond. P
So if we're comparing motorcycles to women, what is my Evo then? It doesn't leak, it's not broken, I rode it hard and fast for hours last weekend and didn't hear any complaints or have any issues. No it's not as fast as a liquid cooled crotch rocket but I wasn't trying to set any speed records anyway. If raw speed was the only issue riding I'd still have my 4 cylinder Kawasaki.

I think the bolded part went out somewhere around '84.

Meh.

First chick was my first wife that last 15 years (educated, clean cut, didn't care about brands, awesome person, etc., still friends).

2nd chick was my second wife that lasted 5 years (lot of tattoos, looked like a super model, loved Louis Vuitton and all the brands, fake ****, tramp stamp, 15 years younger than me (I was 40, she was 25, yea, I'm an idiot and a cliche) and addicted to opiates (learned after we were married uggghh)

I'm looking for something in-between now lol. Third times a charm?

As for the real question, I chose Harley as I grew up around them (dad has owned multiple) and I like how they look and feel. Price wasn't a big issue for me (I concede Harley's are expensive and over-priced for certain models).

For many reasons but a few are, because it is true American heritage made in the USA and every bike sold helps keep the union brother working. There are dealers everywhere and many are open 7 days a week, no matter where you are riding you will see a Harley dealer. Most Harley dealers join in with local motorcycle clubs to organize rides and events to help raise money for many good reasons, and the list goes on and on.

So, that being said you're either a hypocrite or a troll.

If that's the definition of a Harley then I guess neither of my Evo's were really Harley's then. They were both predictably reliable, didn't require any more work than a non Harley motorcycle would, not even a little broken, except for one of them came out on the losing end from a meet up with a cager. I rode the surviving one last weekend and predictably it ran fine, didn't have to work on it, and it looked good doing what it was supposed to do. I did stop once to try to help out another Harley owner with a new motorcycle that had an issue and left him stranded, so maybe Harley is going back to unreliability to please people that don't want predictability or dependability?
