I think he's talking about the Orange/White wire that brings power from the Accessory fuse to the rear brake light switch, front brake light switch, R&L turn signal switches and horn switch. What I can't understand is why if the fuse blows, would the turn signals work. OP, does the horn still work after the fuse blows? Do the turn signals still flash? The running lights are on another fuse. The turn signals will still flash when the security system activates. The 4-way flashers will still work. Check a little further and get back to us. The cigar lighter is on another circuit.
OP, that would be the person that started this thread. Take it east and type slowly, so that us old farts can understand. And please use proper punctuation as it is easier for those of us that grew up some decades ago. We really would like to help you. Best of luck and stick around as we all learn things here. Also grow thick skin as some of us can be ornery and contrary when the mood strikes, or if we just had a bad day, maybe the ED ran out or any one of a thousand reasons....
Had the same problem with my'08 springer. The mechanic had the bike three weeks, couldn't find the short. (Plus he ruined my $100 battery, jackass hooked up charger backwards) I got out the manual, and really studied that darn o/w wire. THERE! inside my headlight bucket. Two minutes and 1 inch of electrical tape, bingo bango short cured!
thanks yes orange/white wire. turns work flashers work horn works running light stays on just lose brake light front and rear switch i have pull the bike apart front to rear can not find cracks splits rub marks and its not a dead fault.i change the fuse i can ride 500 miles nothing ride 2 miles i blows it blows when it wants!!!!!! and everything else works all wiring diagrams say they all are powered by o/w that goes to access fuse. now here is the kicker pull the acc fuse and only lose the brake light. only lose they others when i pull the light relay.
Try pulling the other fuses, one at a time, to see where the turn signals, horn, etc. are getting power. Very strange.
