I know, I know. I can hear the Luddites now ... DILLIGAF and all that. Well, I guess "we" are going to have to deal with it. It'll be interesting to see how the dealers present this machine. As they say, stay tuned.
Be interested to see how this turns out.... could be a great bike for in-town, local riders.... Great for riding back and forth to work?? Dunno…..
I go to Jack Pine Enduro each year and work a check point, road crossing or something.... have since the mid 70's..... saw an electric endure bike this past year. Strange, but he rode the 70+ mile enduro. Strange to "listen" to him leave.... whirr....!!!
I asked about this last night at the dealer when I was at a meeting. I found out that in the US only certain dealers will have them when the come out. He said that our dealer is on the list to be one of the "E dealers" as he called it. And told me that right now the word is that these limited dealerships will be the only ones for the first 2 years and that yes this article does sound pretty close to what they have been told about dates of release. He also said they have been told that there are still design changes in the works so what you see now is probably not going to be what is released.
Thinking it is time to start setting some fun money aside. I am really thinking this is going to be my second 'fun around town' bike. I had been considering snagging a little sportster and making a fun little hot rod out of it but this livewire, as I am a tech geek, really has my interest.
I was told by a dealer, from his best guess, that the Livewire is gonna be around $20K.
This sound about right? I know at this point we're all kinda guessing.
