Thanks to all for your patience and helpful information with my project. I thought this would simply be a matter of identifying the correct outlet, correct plug type and hooking it up and plugging it in. I really don't want to mess with changing connections or splicing as with my limited knowledge and ability, I could get in trouble fast. I will get a voltmeter as so many of you have suggested. In the event anyone has other suggestions or ideas, here is some additional information. It appears the "port" which will most likely work is the one on the left in my original picture. I am pretty sure it is Plug #29 in the service manual wiring diagram and is attached to one blue and one black wire and is listed in service manual as Position Lamp. I believe Andy said blue is hot and black is ground so if I have the correct 'port" and can find the correct plug, I could wire Garmin red to existing blue and black to black. The plug is listed in the service manual as 2 way EPC (BK) which I can't find anywhere. If I could identify the plug, I could get that and try it hopefully without any major damage if not right. If all else fails, I am going to direct wire it to the battery and just remember to unplug it when not in use. Once again, thanks for all the help and your patience with this.
The connector for the position lamp is #69200220 HOUSING, 2-WAY SOCKET. If you go to a dealer you should be able to purchase the plug, pins and seals that will plug into it.
I cannot find what the connector type is else some place like digikey would have them

Just to add an additional dimension.
Many Road Kings are wired for a fender tip light and since the fender tip light is unused in newer Road Kings, that might be an option for you in regards to power.
or maybe something like this link might help you. https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...ccessary+power
Andy, that is a huge help-many thanks. Off tomorrow to get voltage meter and plug.
im., the You Tube video you shared is precisely what I am trying to do. I am guessing that is a different year than mine And what’s confusing me is he has red and black coming into the outlet and I have black and blue coming into a different looking outlet.
I am am going to get voltage meter and part Andy mentioned and hook it up. I am beginning to think that thanks to all the help, I might just pull this off! Thanks to all!
