11th digit of the VIN is always a "9" on CVOs too

No one would ever mistake my bike for a CVO, but I much prefer the look of a well-styled cast badge over a vinyl sticker. It was a bit testy cleanly grinding off the “110” banner...

Protected emblems... I guess I see the point, but I can any emblem made for any car(well, at least outta the muscle car era). It's up to the buyer to make sure someone isn't trying to sell a fake product.

I don't mind saying the stock tank badge/emblem (let's call it a raised sticky label) on my 2017 Limited was so uninspiring that I just couldn't like it. No imagination from H-D when they designed that one. I was just in the process of looking at replacement emblems when H-D released the 2018 115th Anniversary models and I loved that badge. Though they were vin-protected I found a set quickly and bought them. No....I'm not trying to fool anyone and my only reason for having them is because they appeal to me. I don't even know if the set I bought is truly H-D original, but I can tell you they are extremely nice, heavy (metal), and perfectly finished. I think they are indeed H-D original, but it doesn't matter in reality. I also like the CVO badges shown previously in this thread, so it really just comes down to customizing the way you like. Your ride....your preference.
