The $50 ones are obviously not Genuine Harley parts and certainly you'd want to keep your Harley all Harley wouldn't you??? Besides, if you put non factory emblems on your tank it may void your waranty.
check with Surdyke, sometimes the p/n will show it is restricted in the parts catalog but it can still be ordered through them. You'll have to go to the HD parts catalog and find which emblem you're looking for
Is it possible to get anniversary emblems pre-2000?
most of the cvo fuel tank emblems have not been vin restricted (other than the anniversary editions). not until this particular emblem came out with the 2018. guess there was a large demand for them, so the moco restricted them. even the 2009 'screamin eagle' chrome badge was not vin restricted.
