Kicking around buying a discontinued Harley leather jacket. Do these jackets generally run large or small? Harley's sizing charts for the jackets they sell now say I need a large, but if they run large I don't want to be swimming in it, but if I went with a medium I don't want to have it be constricting either.
I'd say they run similar to most leather jackets you find in stores. I have a discontinued medium HD jacket. I weigh 195, and although I can zip it up, it is tight. I have a 44 inch chest.
I'd go for the large.
I'm 6', and weigh about 210. An XL fits me pretty good, with enough room for something underneath.
I'd go with a larger size to fit an undergarment. I have 3 HD jackets, they are all size XL.

We seem to have about the same build, I'm around 195 lb and have a 44" chest.
I made it out to the dealership this morning and tried a couple different styles on. Couldn't find any Medium jackets, but the two Large size I tried on fit well. One was a little snug around the waist, but fit fine everywhere else, the other fit perfect. So yeah, I need the Large size. Narrows my choice, there are 2 of the discontinued style jackets online that are NWT, one medium, and one large and both the same price.
I bought a large HD jacket back in 06, and I wear a large in everything from the waste to the neck, and it still fits just right today. However you need to know if the jacket you are wanting has instillation in it, or not. The jacket that I have has no instillation in it whatsoever. Which jacket are you buying?

The jacket comes with a liner, but I figure that they would take that into account when sizing the jacket. Seems they wouldn't label a jacket size Large, and then put a zip out liner in it turning it into a Medium. Who knows though...
The jacket I'm interested in is one of the discontinued Harley Davidson Prestige line of jackets.
They run smaller than regular clothes, since they're supposed to fit tight. They run larger than brands like TourMaster, which are noticeably tighter; I had to go up a size for them.
Friends and I are all different sizes and shapes, we all are 1 size up for jackets (leather and textile). Im 6'2 225lbs and normally XL. 2x to fit me right.
Pulled the trigger on a Harley Prestige leather jacket on ebay. Not the one I had been looking at that was NWT, but a preowned one that just popped up on ebay this afternoon. Quite a few pictures of it and it looks to be in fantastic shape, PLUS was $170 less. I have the same jacket that is textile in size large, and this leather jacket measurements as far as pit to pit, sleeve length, and collar to bottom were the exact same measurements.
I'm a jacket freak, and I've always liked the Prestige line Harley sold a few years back. So now I have one insulated black/gray, one insulated orange/black, one uninsulated orange/black, and now a leather orange/black one. Until this leather one, all the ones I have were NWT and I paid $50 or less for.
