Right on. My wife knows and cares as much about my bike, guns etc. as I know and care about her purses, cosmetics, fancy shampoo, conditioner, monthly manicure/pedicures, spa days, mall days, massage, girls wine night and the list goes on and on. Who cares. I could trade my bike in tomorrow she would never notice, as long as it's Vivid Black and has Harley-Davidson on the tank.

G-d forbid ALL women to support their husbands. <-- Said ever so sarcastically.
These quotes two sum it up nicely! My wife don't ride. When she married me I had a Harley. I don't complain about her expenses and she understands my love for Harley's. Which one is more expensive to maintain doesn't matter as long as you have both
The OP obviously married the wrong woman! Perhaps the sex was good?
We may never find out- the OP so far hasn't returned, or at least hasn't posted anything. It'd have to be REAL good to put up with bitchin about maintenance costs.
Compare with BMW bike maintenance costs. In comparison, BMW's seem to require more frequent maintenance intervals, and their prices are absolutely absurd. You pay for the elite logo.
Really? Shop rates are about the same for non Indy shops. Service intervals are similar. And you are kidding yourself if you think you arent paying a premium for the HD name.
No; oil changes & maintenence are NOT worth it & totally overrated. Buy a bike & keep the same oil in it for the life of the bike. You'll be glad you did.
I've done everything to my bike since I've owned it for the last 6 years. Nothing has been done by anyone else(including tires) by anyone but me. The only thing I've paid outside labor for was my paint.
Now, if I had paid someone else to do all my upgrades and maintenance, for me, it would be pretty pricey and not worth it to me.
