I can relate to the OP worrying. I work in a strip mall and my car has been hit 3 times by buggies rolling across the lot.
When I ride my bike, I pull it up on the curb right in front of my office though. They asked me to move it once, but when they said they "wouldn't pay for any damage from their carts, because it wasn't directly caused by one of their workers," I decided I would continue to park on the curb from now on.
It's a FXR. You can't walk into a dealership & buy a replacement. Anything else would be a downgrade. Yep, it's that special, at least to me.
Huge difference between special to you and special to the insurance company. Insurance companies just look at some book or excel spread sheet and say your bike is worth $XXX.XX.
There are intangibles you can't put a price on, which is why some people shouldn't park their bikes in some places.
I'm not arguing with you, I'm agreeing, there are some bikes that the Insurance payment won't replace. Or at least won't replace easily.
And security cameras are a bit of a deterrent. The on street motorcycle only parking I usually use is within camera shot of 3 government buildings. Nobody messes with helmets or the bikes. There is one guy that parks his bike about the same time I do that open carries a 1911. He unhooks his holster and gun and leaves it in his saddlebag during the day because he's not allowed to carry in the office. Says he has been doing that for years and no one has bothered his bike. He was the one that pointed out all the cameras on the buildings that have a view of our parking area.

Uh, wrong. There's nothing out there that can't be insured and you simply need to add a rider to the policy. "Insurance Rider" not you as a bike rider. The only thing that can't be replaced is a life. Everything else can be.
The cameras are a deterrent. I lock the rotors & the forks. It's the best I can do. If the bike gets stolen I can't exactly walk into the dealer & find another FXR.....
I also ride bikes that can't be purchased new, but all Things are replaceable. That's half the adventure, is the way I look at it. Doesn't matter what I am riding that day, I park it in a reasonably safe and secure area, lock it and walk away. No need to worry about it.

Yes it can't be purchased new, but it can be found and purchased..... I get you love it, most of us do.... If you are that worried about losing it, I probably would never ride it. Because as statistics go, you are more likely to get in an accident that get it stolen.
at my previous place of work I went to the security guru and to HR with a proposal and worked out a designated motorcycle parking area. When gas prices went sky high there were over 20 bikes parked in the area. that opened up 20+ spaces for the 4 wheeled vehicles. Win win.
i rode my scooter to VA for work for years, just left it at the motel or where ever, i mean it's an M8, so it's not really worth stealing, right?
bike was in NorVA for both snow storms last year. got off work on a pretty day, and left VA straight to Dad's house near Blue Ridge.
got to his place after a LONG day, and just put it in the driveway. it was supposed to rain soon, and he had a COW!! "you can't leave something that expensive outside, put it in the garage!!""
I was like, "Dad, it's been outside for several years, in the rain, snow, sleet & mud...it's a TOOL to get places, not a family heirloom"
and he grumbled "i would take care something of mine that was that expensive....arrr…..ggrrr...rrraaarrr"
My RG did not come with the factory security system. All of the threads I found involved putting an audible siren on an existing system. Are there aftermarket systems or do you have to have the HD system?
