Default Wide Glide Tour Pack

I’m riding a ‘13 Wide Glide. As much as I’d like a Street Glide, it’s not in the budget. With that said, what about adding a tour pack to the Dyna? I’m wanting it for 2-up with my 9 yr old son. We go to St Petersburg every year for the Indycar race and taking a motorcycle would be more fun than my truck. Thoughts? He rides with me often, but the 6 hr ride without a backrest is a no go.

It would be a lot cheaper to just add a back rest (and a luggage rack if you want).
I'd never put anyone on the back of a bike without a backrest of some kind.

get on the Dyna section here and look at what those guys have done. Its pretty easy to adapt a luggage rack into a tour pack.

I asked the same question not long ago and got some really good responses and info. It's not a bad option and you may end up liking it better than trading bikes. You can read the responses here:

Can definitely be done. I had one on my old Softail with docking hardware so I could throw it on for trips. The Dyna has a crap ton of suspension options available as well so you’d be better off than I was too. My softy was terrible fully loaded and the options were very limited for suspension.

Simple $59-79 tourpak off Amazon will bolt onto a luggage rack easily. Had one for my FXDC and the black paint was pretty decent. You have to leave off the backrest but the tourpak has a passenger backrest pad itself if really needed..
