I have a 07 road king stage 1 with s&s 510 chain drive cams
I just installed the screamin eagle compensator .. Barnett Kevlar extra plate clutch and the hayden chain adjuster all in one shot.
So the bike starts up nice now doesn't sound like a can of rocks anymore.. however after idling for about 5min once the bike starts to warm.. I'm hearing knocking pretty loud.. knock...knockknock......knock .... knock knock knock... . The bike is running very well..
Please help
Are you sure your not hearing the primary chain slapping the primary? reason I ask, I put a hayden adjuster in mine and had to shim the adjuster because I was getting chain slap on idle and startup.
That was also in the back of my mind.. I didn't use any of the shims on the hayden. The measurements were on point 3/8" according to the instructions. The chain felt nice and tight. I will open the primary back up maybe tomorrow and hopefully find the issue.

My advice is lose the Hayden. Had one one my '12 RGU. The chain was also tight when cold. i called Hayden for advice and was told not to worry as then chain would "wear in". After about 4500 miles the entire primary system was junk. I went back to stock and have had no problem since.
I took the primary cover off today and started the bike... the knocking I was hearing was the hayden bottoming out... I put the stock tensioner on ... no more knocking ..
