I own an 08 UC and thinking of V&H TRUE DUALS to remove the heat from my wifes right foot . Do i need a remap or a dynotune ? The bike is stock except for slip on's , not interested in performance but going on a 4-6 week trip to cali , mid west , south west etc.... Anyone have real world experience ? THANKS

Absolutely you will need a remap. The remap is one of the reasons it will end up running cooler. If you do not remap it will run way to lean.

I have read, more than once, that these engines run better with a crossover, they will tune better.

Here is a link to a set of aftermarket headers that look like true duals, but have a hidden crossover and no catalytic converter. It is likely that these will run cooler than a set of true duals without the crossover.

Here is a video which explains backpressure in the exhaust...

I have the true duals installed ran with the Harley stage 1 map and slip ones. Had just a little decel pop. I would try it and see if your bike has the Harley map then. Buy a tuner.

These guys will sell you a Power Commander with a pre loaded map for your bike. They really do make a difference.

I have also heard from several good HD mechanics that a few years ago when true duals became the "thing to do", they discovered that they actually weren't as good as the stock pipes with the cross over. Just a thought. I think a good dyno tune by a knowledgeable tuner would benefit you more, and cost you less.
