Peg Mounting Issues!
Hello Everyone,
I need some help. I ordered some sweet new Arlen Ness foot pegs and shifter/break pegs. And as I go to replace the pegs on my forward controls I realize I have some sort of strange configuration on my pegs. I don’t have the standard “male” style pegs, I’m guessing mine are a “female” mount style?
Does anyone have simple solution to this? All the pegs on the market seem to be the “male” style. I also don’t want to do adapters as it will not look clean and extend out too far which I think will look goofy. Anybody have any suggestions for this? I have a 1989 sportster I’m not sure what type of forward controls they were on the bike when I bought it. Below are some pictures of the new pegs I bought and also pictures of my existing configuration.
Existing set up on my bike:
Existing set up, notice where I point to in red, there is thread there can these be removed and new stylw put in?

forward controls (at least the ones you have) are not typically adaptable to standard highway pegs, which is what you have. They are 2 different animals entirely. forward controls are typically made as a unit, meaning they're not easily retrofitted to other parts. not that they can't be but you are going to have to do some investigating if you really have your heart set on using those pegs. as mentioned earlier, you should post this on the sportster thread.
