2500 miles a year isnt that hard to beat even in Alaska...with all due respect. I do admit that I dont ride as much as I use to but many folks up north put tons of miles in bikes...
Might Be medical condition or other reason.
If you owned a bike for 10 years and have minimal issues then a warranty is probably not a great investment.
I don't disagree with you as I average about 4-5K miles a year on my bike as I use them as my everyday commuter when it is nice..... however, little known fact, northern New England averages more snow than the populated parts of Alaska......

i know, Im actually from Northern New Brunswick...remember it really well and dont miss it.

I hear that!!!!! This time of year the bike is under a sheet and the snowmobile comes out.....I'd rather be on the bike but the sled makes Winter KINDA tolerable...
I'm actually thinking about relocating to the Carolinas in the next 10 years. The long Winters here are driving me batty!!!
An extended warranty is a bet that a failure will happen AND that the cost of the repair(s) will exceed the price of the warranty. Mathematically your odds of coming out ahead on this deal are much better at the craps table. But if you somehow get "peace of mind" buying one thinking you are covered just in case. Think about it. You are already in the hole big time. My opinion is don't buy one.
Offhand, I'd say don't bother; it's mostly just another Harley tax. However, if you feel you need it, make sure you're on good terms with your dealer. The good dealer and bad dealer threads are running neck and neck. Unfortunately for me, our local only sells extended liar packages.
Thank you all for your input and confirm with me that an extended warranty is not really necessary.
And for those that believe it is a garage queen , not any more, actually I bought it 3 years ago with 9,000 miles on it, about 5,000 miles a year, not too bad for 77 year old geezer in the snowbelt, but thanks anyway. Stay safe all.
